St James House

Project:
St James House
Client:
Century Construction Ltd
Architect:
Brewster Bye Architects
Value:
£3.6million
Duration:
12 months
Brief:
St James House has been converted from a city office block formally used for business/commercial spaces and ground floor retail units. The building now known as Live Oasis Deansgate, was initially planned to take 12months but was delayed due to Covid lockdown restrictions. The accommodation is split over 4 floors with additional amenities at ground floor and basement levels. The works were carried out on a severely restricted site with access only via a small courtyard off a small narrow one way street. Material handling and waste disposal/recycling were a major consideration during the project and close co-ordination with Sub-contractors and Suppliers was essential to maintain a workable programme. Careful planning with the Client, H&S advisors and co-operation with our Sub- contractors enabled the works to re-commence in a safe manner limiting the delay to 8 weeks. The Studio apartments have a modern fitted kitchen, luxury bathroom facilities and bespoke furniture with high end finishes. Smart wiring has been installed to meet the high demands of today's technical and digital innovations.
